Bea Gaddy Family Center

The Bea Gaddy Family Center is a community based nonprofit organization that assists and provides food to needy families throughout the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan Area and throughout Maryland. Using your donations to change the lives of many.



Beans & Bread

Beans & Bread is a comprehensive day resource program that offers a complete range of supportive services designed to help individuals attain stabilization and self-sufficiency.  Services are client-centered and focused in four core areas:  housing, employment, health, and recovery.

Civic Works

Civic Works strengthens Baltimore’s communities through education, skills development, and community service. We are a non-profit working in Baltimore communities for over 20 years, and we are deeply committed to service.

Dee's Place

Late hours are often the times that former substance abusers are the most vulnerable to relapse. In one of the only 24 hour a day programs anywhere in the nation,  Dee’s Place assists people seeking help with recovery by hosting 12-step meetings, referring individuals to appropriate drug treatment programs and connecting them to appropriate support services for their housing, legal, health and mental health services, job training and other needs.



Esperanza Center 

The Esperanza Center is a comprehensive immigrant resource center that offers hope and essential services to people who are new to the United States. Immigrants from all over the world have received important resources and compassionate guidance at the Esperanza Center since 1963. Our dedicated staff and volunteers provide services and referrals, ESL education, healthcare, and low-cost immigration legal services to thousands of immigrants each year. 

Fort Worthington Neighborhood Association

(former Berea Eastside Neighborhood Association)

Meetings are held at Fort Worthington Elementary School Recreation Center in the rear on the Hoffman Street side. Area includes: Edison Highway/Federal Streets to Biddle to Milton Avenue/Milton to Federal Street.


Franciscan Center

The mission of the Franciscan Center is to provide emergency assistance and supportive outreach to persons who are economically disadvantaged in an effort to assist them in realizing their self-worth and dignity as people of God.

Green & Healthy Homes Initiative

The Green & Healthy Homes Initiative was charged in 2008 by the Council on Foundations and the White House Office of Recovery to lead the national efforts to integrate lead hazard control, healthy homes and weatherization and energy efficiency work. This project later became the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative directed by the Coalition that addresses the health and energy efficiency needs of a home through a holistic intervention model.



Helping Up Mission

Helping Up Mission provides hope to people experiencing homelessness, poverty or addiction by meeting their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. The average homeless man we serve has survived two decades of substance abuse and years on the streets. He comes to us addicted, destitute, and dysfunctional — with no realistic capacity to recover on his own.

Manna House

Manna House has been serving the poor and homeless of Baltimore for 44 years. Since the inception of the agency we have embraced the holistic approach for providing services, be they physical, emotional, mental or spiritual; we have incorporated understanding while responding to societal ills. 



Maryland New Directions

Maryland New Directions is a 41-year-old non-profit organization offering no-cost career counseling and job search skills training. We assist low-income Baltimore City residents, 21-60 years of age entering or re-entering the workforce through a range of training services such as career assessments, job readiness, mock interviews, job placement assistance, barrier assessment and management, one-on-one job coaching, professional network development, job retention services.

McElderry Park Community Association

McElderry Park Community Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to promote the goals and interests of the residents and stakeholders within its boundaries. The Association acts through advocacy, partnership, initiatives, and programs to improve the quality of life for all residents by making McElderry Park a cleaner, greener, healthier, and safer place to live, work, and prosper. 



Men and Families Center, Inc

The Men and Families Center improves the quality of relationships between fathers and their children, thus enhancing the preservation of families and community.

Moveable Feast

Moveable Feast provides nutritious foods and other services in order to preserve quality of life for people with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening conditions.



Oliver Community Association

The Oliver Community Association (OCA) is a community-based corporation that has been serving the Oliver community for more than 20 years.  It provides assistance to residents with various city support services and organizations.  OIA offers home ownership counseling; support services for community clean ups, job placements and referrals, youth activities and assistance to elderly residents.

Our Daily Bread Employment Center

With one in four Baltimoreans living in poverty, the demand for services at Our Daily Bread Employment Center (ODBEC) has risen sharply. ODBEC is a safety net that helps to keep the thousands of people served each year from hunger, homelessness, and unemployment. It is the place people turn to for help and hope.  



Roberta's House

Roberta's House is a safe place where children, teens and adults discover that they are not alone in their grief.  Children with their families share their feelings, memories and experiences in an atmosphere of acceptance with the love and support of trained volunteers.

St. Vincent de Paul Church

St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church is a small inner city, intentional community drawing parishioners from the greater Baltimore metropolitan area.  Our vision is to become a people visibly transformed by Sacrament and Scripture to Serve.  We have a particular service commitment to our neighborhood in Jonestown.

The Door

The Baltimore Urban Leadership Foundation, also known as “The Door,” is a faith-based organization that serves local communities through direct service, capacity-building and resource development addressing social, economic, educational, physical and the spiritual needs.

Waxter Center for Senior Citizens

Waxter Center for Senior Citizens provides a food program, recreation, education and cooling services for senior citizens.   Waxter Center also offers socialization, fitness programs, trips and some free classes for all ages. 



Zion Baptist Church

Zion Baptist Church is a progressive, urban Baptist congregation in the heart of Baltimore, Maryland.  Pastor, Dr. Marshall F. Prentice's commitment to the enhancement of God’s Kingdom on earth has manifested itself in his loyal attention to the daily activities and services of the church on community development initiatives: senior citizens, youth empowerment, cultural awareness, homelessness, drug rehabilitation, transitional housing and mission/outreach activities.
