236-Bed Shelter Opens in Baltimore County to Support Families and Individuals

n July 1, 2025, St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore opened a new 236-bed shelter on the campus of MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in eastern Baltimore County.

This Eastside Shelter expands emergency housing and adds case management, housing navigation, employment resources, and health care access for families, women, and men experiencing homelessness.

This new shelter replaces the former Community Assistance Network facility and increases service capacity. It joins other Baltimore County shelters including the Hannah More Family Center (Reisterstown) and Interim House (Pikesville).
